Entry Fee

  • The entry fee is to be designated by each club.
  • An additional entry fee of $5 will be charge separately at each stage to go towards the Tour De Riverina (TDR) overall prize/prizes pool. Riders who contribute $5 during any stage are eligible for overall prizes.
  • Each club is responsible for collecting & forwarding the TDR $5 dollar rider fee to the organising body representative prior to end of the tour.

 

Races

  • The 5 clubs, Cootamundra, Albury Woodonga Panthers, Wagga Wagga, Griffith and Tolland will host their respective races.
  • Each Handicap Race will  be a stage.
  • All races in the Tour will be Handicaps.
  • No more than 1 races from each club will go towards the Tour De Riverina Point Score.
    • The intentions are to remove any advantage that a club may have by having more stages in their region.
    • The restricted amount of Stages will also reduce the impact on Club racing.
  • The Nominated Central Handicapper will handicap the Tour with the assistance of Club nominated handicappers if required.

 

Tour Leader

  • Instead of leading the Tour on Time you lead on Points.
  • The Tour Leader will be wearing a Yellow number to designate to the rest of the field that they are the Leader.
  • The number will be awarded at the start of each stage.

 

Team Category

  • A Team consists of 4 riders or 3 with no reserve.
  • $40 dollar nomination fee for each Team (all Fees goes towards prize money)
  • The Team can consist of male and female riders and or all female or all male.
  • Team members can be from different clubs.
  • The Team of 4 or 3 would have to be nominated before the start of the Tour to be eligible for the overall Victory.
  • A Team rider will be awarded 2 bonus points  for each stage they ride. A maximum of 6 points will be awarded on any one stage. Each Team effectively has a reserve rider.
  • The winning team will be determined by the combination of the points from their top 3 Team members, plus the extra bonus points.
  • In the case of a dead heat in the Teams Classification, the tie breaking sequence will be the Team that has ridden the most stages, then the most number of stage wins, then their respective placing’s.
  • The Leading Team will wear numbers at the start of each stage to designate they are a member of the Leading Team.
  • The numbers will be awarded to the team at the start of each stage.
  • The winning team will also win the prestigious perpetual Team Trophy for their club.
  • A Team may wear Clothing appropriate to a Team Sponsor if they wish.
  • A Prize will be given to the Best Dressed team.

  • Fine Print:
    • Albury/Wodonga members are to seek committee approval prior to riding in any other jersey than their club kit.
    • Please be advised that any cycling kit that is not registered with your applicable State Federation can not be ridden in State Open Events.
    • Please consider others when racing as a team in a handicap race. It would be considered bunch etiquette to show  loyalty to your handicap group up until you hit the front of the race.
    • You do NOT need to be part of a Team to ride the Tour De Riverina.

 

Female Category

  • The Tour will recognize the leading Female on points
  • The leading Female will wear a Pink number to designate that she is the leading Female.
  • The number will be awarded to the Leading female at the start of each stage.

 

Best Young Rider

  • The Tour will recognize the Best Young Rider.
  • The Young Rider category is open to U/19 Riders Male and Female.
  • The leading Young Rider will wear a black on white number to designate that he/she is the leading Young Rider.
  • The number will be awarded to the Leading Young Rider at the start of each stage.

 

Best 45+ Rider

  • The Tour will recognize the Best 45+ Rider.
  • The 45+ Rider category is open to  Riders Male and Female 45 years and older.
  • The leading 45+ Rider will wear a black on Grey number to designate that he/she is the leading 45+ Rider.
  • The number will be awarded to the Leading 45+ Rider at the start of each stage

 

Leading Scratch Rider

  • The Tour will recognize the Best Scratch Rider
  • The Scratch Rider category is open to  all who ride off Scratch.
  • To be eligible:
    • Points are be accumulated whilst riding from Scratch.
    • Riders need to have ridden at least 4 out of the 5 stages from Scratch.
    • in case of a dead heat on points the tie breaking sequence will be the number of stages ridden, followed by the amount of fastest time prizes, then by placing’s and then it’s the first rider across the line on the last stage.
  • The leading Scratch Rider will wear a Black on White/Yellow number to designate that he/she is the leading Scratch Rider.
  • The number will be awarded to the Leading Scratch Rider at the start of each stage.

 

The Barry O’Hagan Perpetual Club Trophy

  • The Club Trophy is an award that was introduced to recognise the club with the highest attendance over the serious of races.
  • The Trophy will be decided at the end of the Tour from the combined points of the top placed five riders from each club that host a race.

 

Number/Leaders

  • A Yellow number 1 for the Tour Leader
  • A Pink number 2 for the leading Female
  • A White Number 3 for the leading Young Rider
  • A Black number 4 on a Grey Background for the leading 45+ Rider
  • A Yellow number 5, 6, 7 & 8 on a Black background for the leading Team.
  • A Black number 9 on a white/Yellow (Stopwatch) background for the leading Scratch Rider

 

Points System

  • Points for top 10, 1st (10 points), 2nd (9 points), 3rd (8 points) etc to 10th place.
  • Bonus Points
    • All riders who complete a race receive 1 point.
    • A rider who turns up to consecutive races will receive 2 points for completing the race.
    • Six (6) bonus point will be given to each Team if all three start a race. The 6 Bonus point only count towards the Team Total and have no effect on the Individual categories.

 

Podium Presentation

  • A Podium Presentation to recognize stage winners will be held after each race.

Tour Prizes

  • 1st to 10th place overall
  • 1st to 3rd Team
  • 1st to 3rd Female
  • 1st to 3rd Young Rider
  • 1st to 3rd 45+ Rider
  • 1st to 3rd Scratch Rider
  • The Tour Organizing Body may vary the prizes at their discretion. If the event is well patronized then the Tour organizing body hope to pay further down the Leader board on the overall classification. The organizing body are committed to involving as many riders as possible in the prize pool.

Other

  • Albury/Wodonga CC, Cootamundra CC, Griffith CC, Lavington CC, Tolland CC and Wagga Wagga CC are to forward a document listing all their club members in Club handicap order (Limit to Scratch) to the Tour Handicapper Barry O’Hagan by the week before Stage 1.
  • The Best Young Rider and Women’s category’s are also eligible to win the overall Tour. As well an U/19 Female can win the Best Young Rider, Women’s category and the overall Tour. Same goes for the 45+ rider, they are eligible for the general classification.
  • In the case of a dead heat in general classification and categories, the tie breaking sequence will be the rider with the most number of stages ridden, then stage wins, then their respective placing. In the situation where two or more riders are tied on Stage results for the lead going into the last stage, the winner of the Tour will be the first rider across the finish line.
  • NSW race entries are to be no more than 100 per event. (NSW State Federation rule)
  • Please forward entries to the Tour Handicapper by the Thursday prior to the stage.
  • The Club Captain or President/Secretary are the only person/s who can approach the race handicapper, regarding any problems or issues.
